Your IT automation steps towards efficient EMR Change management

Session Details

Date: June 18th 2013
Time: 10:10
Location: Nevada Room

Session Abstract

As in any enterprise, the wide implementation of software technology can be rated on three legs of success in deployment – people, process, and technology. So in the EMR-EHR scenario the bridge between the people and process with technology is “change management”. EHR adoption is an ongoing and evolving process, therefore post rollout, end user service, on-going change management, software updates, and deployments must continue without interruption of service. The continual health of the EHR system by reduced downtime and outages will help reduce compliance risk, maintain business and medical operations continuity, maintain billing and revenue streams, and mitigate compliance and security fines dictated by the “meaningful use” mandate.

In the EMR Change Management process there must be a bridge between the IT technical implementation goals of an EHR system and clinicians to make certain that a patient’s care is always the final goal. Learn from an IT perspective how your organization can manage the transition from paper health care records to electronic health records through the lifecycle management of your EHR enterprise software and supporting infrastructure in pre and post implementation cycles.
