Big Data Solutions for Ultra-High-Speed Data Transfer: The Next Big Thing for Life Sciences

Chris Gough is the lead healthcare cloud computing architect at Intel. He meets with healthcare enterprise organizations around the world to advise them on cloud computing, virtualization and healthcare security and privacy. Mr. Gough also works closely with industry partners and customers to design, develop and publish industry proof points that demonstrate the benefits of healthcare technologies based on standardized architectures. Mr. Gough has been with Intel for more than 15 years and was formerly both product and security architect in Intel’s Digital Health division. In this role, he was the chief architect for Independent Living’s flagship product, Care Connect, and chief architect of Integration Services for the Intel Health Guide. Mr. Gough has been an active member of the Continua Health Alliance and was one of the lead contributors to the end-to-end system architecture and interoperability guidelines. He holds a Bachelor of Science in computer science from the University of California at San Diego. Mr. Gough is a regular blogger on Intel Premier IT Professionals and has recently published several whitepapers and case studies regarding advances in healthcare cloud computing. Jay Migliaccio Director of Cloud Products and Solutions Aspera, Inc. Jay is responsible for Aspera's On Demand product line, providing highspeed transport to, from and across cloud infrastructure and object storage to enable big data applications in the cloud. In his previous role as Director of Sales Engineering, Jay spearheaded the architecture and deployment for numerous Aspera installations in support of complex endtoend filebased media workflows. Jay brings over 11 years of experience providing OEM Sales, Sales Engineering, and Business Development services to technology companies with a focus on Open Source platforms. Prior to joining Aspera, Jay held business development and partner management roles at Novell and SUSE Linux. Jay holds a BS from the University of Massachusetts.
