Innovations in bioscience, new technology capabilities and an aging population are forcing the transformation of entire value chains within the health care and life science fields. Although there is general willingness to invest in innovation and technology for the sector, challenges persist: a lack of shared situational awareness in health care (at all levels) is leading to highly variable and uncertain outcomes, suboptimal workflows, medical error and generally poor patient and staff experiences compared to other industries.
